Pattaya
Pattaya is both infamous, and enigmatic among Thailand travel destinations. Best known to many as a hedonists playground, it still attracts planeloads of family holidayers to it’s rather cluttered beaches. Compare it to the coast of Norway and you will find the beaches magnificent. Compare it to Trang, Khao Lak, Chumpon, or Hua Hin however, and you start to think that anyone going to Pattaya for the beaches, just isn’t looking hard enough elsewhere.
Like it or not, Pattaya’s bawdy reputation is still it’s main draw. No shortage of sights to see, clothed and otherwise. Regardless of whether or not the hedonistic nightlife is your cup of tea or not, one simply has to go to Pattaya if nothing else for the sideshow which is it’s tourists, and the theatre they provide. Nothing is more entertaining than someone who is 10,000km from home, drunk on Thai beer and thinking that nobody is looking.
